Under Perkins V, states are required to report annually on the following core indicators of performance. Under the Perkins legislation and applicable Department regulations, eligible agencies are required to submit the following reports each year—Narrative performance report pursuant to 2 CFR 200.329 and 34 CFR 76.720;Financial reports pursuant to 2 CFR 200.328 and 34 CFR 76.720; andPerformance data reports pursuant to section 113(b)(3)(C) of Perkins V.To enable eligible agencies to efficiently and effectively meet their annual reporting requirements, the Department has combined these reports into a single reporting instrument, the Consolidated Annual Report (CAR). The Division of Academic and Technical Education (DATE) conducts monitoring activities under the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006 as amended by the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act (Perkins V). In accordance with the Department’s regulations at 2 CFR 200.300, DATE develops an annual monitoring plan for state grantees. Among the purposes of the plan are to:Uphold the Department’s fiduciary responsibility in protecting against waste, fraud, and abuse of federal funds;Ensure that state grantees effectively comply with the requirements of Perkins V and applicable Department statutes and regulations (including the Education Department General Administrative Regulations (EDGAR)); andEnsure that state grantees are makingState Monitoring Portal Training for Submitting Evidence for Monitoring Visits (FY 2022)
